The annual sunflower fields at Dorothea Dix Park have been such a hit that the park workers surprised Raleigh with daffodils this spring. So beautiful! But so short-lived.

We had a perfect spring day today so I rushed over to Dix to enjoy the flowers. The daffodils were just at their peak, and there were so many that the air was scented with their perfume. They are planted in a sprawling zig zag pattern along the grass to maximize their effect.

I spent a lovely hour there and posted my three best photos below, with the colors and lighting fine-tuned by Picasa. Enjoy them, and get out and smell the daffodils this spring!
