Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park are almost across the highway from each other near Moab, Utah. Whereas Arches is famous for its many naturally occurring arches, Canyonlands is famous for its miles of weather-beaten canyons. Both parks were formed by rain eroding this area of the Colorado Plateau.
You can get some gorgeous photos of Canyonlands without having to hike into the canyons. This was fortunate, because we were tired from hiking at Arches the day before. The morning was also rather hot so just standing and enjoying the scenery felt great. We spent an hour or so there before heading west.
This photo fix didn’t take a lot of Picasa edits, just auto contrast, tuning, crop, saturation and museum matte.
