Cemeteries have some of the most beautiful and melancholy sculptures you’ll ever see. The challenge is to capture the mood and gracefulness of the statues while either blocking or integrating a possibly distracting background.
The finished photo, above, uses sepia to bring out the three dimensionality and strong shadows of the very sad baby statuette. The poignant realism of the figure needs nothing else to tell the story of this family’s loss.
