As you are going through your old photos and deciding how to turn them into something that reflects your wonderful vacation memories, you will find that the sepia option is time and again your best friend. It’ll let you neutralize colors that just don’t work and give you a simplified palette to try new effects.
Even though the finished photo has a lot of reddish tones in it, I started out using a pale brownish sepia base. Here are the steps I used to make the photo into a simple yet vibrant arrangement that reflects the essence of New Mexico:
